About Jose Rivera-Benitez

I was born and raised in New York City’s Lower East Side, and graduated from Columbia University with a joint degree in History and Sociology. I received a law degree from Seton Hall Law School in Newark, New Jersey, and I practiced law in the public sector, and in the private sector. Currently, I am based in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.

Yoga changed my life. After practicing different forms of Yoga under several instructors, my love of the practice of Yoga steered me to learn to teach the beauty and essence of Yoga so others can equally benefit from the union of mind, body and spirit. I earned my 500-hour Yoga Instructor Certification from the American Yoga Academy in Summit New Jersey under the expert guidance of Claire Diab, and am Yoga Alliance registered.

Now, I teach the joy of yoga and meditation in studios in New Jersey and New York.
